Nova Brasil Collective is a dynamic group of local musicians that share a fundamental passion for Brazilian music. The collective was born through the minds of Osvaldo Ferraz (acoustic guitar) and Dhiego Costa (piano), two Brazilian musicians who flew from Brazil to Manitoba to study music and who now call this province home. Our ensemble is known for its vibrant performances and deep respect for the traditions of Brazilian music, while also infusing contemporary jazz elements to create a unique and engaging experience for our listeners.

Nova Brasil Collective has debuted last year performing at the Music ‘N’ Mavens Festival, with the show “Tom Jobim - Where’s the love?” at the Berney Theatre, and at the 2024 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, with the show “Jazz Winnipeg Salutes – Astrud Gilberto: The Girl From Ipanema” at the Fort Garry Hotel Club Room, being praised in both occasions for their musical quality and great connection with the public in attendance.
